Nostalgia is the driving force behind my photographic work. It is that feeling of longing for something that was, that could have or should have been. Nostalgia makes me smile, and weep, and revel in the moments where I can stay inside my head.
My attractions to desolate landscapes, abandoned architecture, and even to most people come from a desire for them to remain static. Our world is moving outward, spilling over the landscapes I love and those I have yet to see faster than I can reach them. Vistas and artifacts will be swept up and crushed before they are ever discovered.
I received my degrees in Photographic Arts & Art History from the University of California in Santa Cruz. I have worked for many local artists and as a freelance photographer since 2008.
